摘要An embedded bypass sludge reduction wastewater treatment system integrating sidestream sludge reduction, sludge and sand separation, side-stream chemical phosphorus removal and enhanced nutrient removal was developed to decrease the excess sludge yield in the activated sludge process and solve the problems of sludge reduction. The capacity of the pilot-scale reactor was 10 m3/d, and it operated stably for more than 90 d. The effluent concentration of NH4+-N, TN, TP, COD and pH were (0.5 ±0.3) mg/L, (8.6 ±1.6) mg/L, (0.14 ±0.04) mg/L, (26.8 ±8.8) mg/L and 7.75 ±0.31 respectively. The effluent quality could meet the first class A criteria. Incorporating of bypass system did not result in deterioration or fluctuation in the quality of the effluent from the main system. Meanwhile, the return of the alkali-treated sludge as an additional C-source and the recovery of phosphorus from the phosphorus-rich supernatant led to excellent nitrogen and phosphorus removal in this pilot-scale system.
