Terahertz waveplate based metamaterial

摘要To transfer source polarization state in the terahertz time-domain spectrum (THz-TDS) system, the metamaterial constituted by the array of anisotropic metallic circle split ring structure is proposed. With the anisotropism of this structure, the different resonant is excited, which cause the different equivalent refractive index and different transmission phase in the orthogonal directions. The anisotropic property is analyzed with simulations and the device is fabricated. The measured result reveals that the Quasi-1/4 terahertz wave plate is realized with the metamaterial at 0.34THz. © 2016 IEEE.
